An Amazing Ceremony for Al Shaqab’s Coming Generation

Qatar is proud to celebrate the graduation of the first group of students to receive equestrian training at Al Shaqab based on a new path and Arabian values. The event was honored by the presence of Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani & Sheikh Thani Bin Hamad Al Thani & Sheikh Al Qa’qa Bin Hamad Al Thani.

The little riders, who worked hard and attended practical trainings & theoretical classes regularly throughout the academic year that began in September 2015, proved their merit and skills in the arena in different competitions that were organized by the equine education Department and the Qatar Equestrian Federation.

“It wasn’t easy at the beginning, but it contributed to put the foundation stone for the coming generation and to start a new history full of adventure and challenges. This new page of history will be added to Al Shaqab heritage.” Said Mr. Mohammed Sultan Al Sowidi, Equine Education Acting Manager.

Al Shaqab, Member of Qatar Foundation, cares about equestrian values. The Riding School was founded in 1996. During the ceremony, Al Shaqab also announced the setting up of a complete Qatari equestrian curriculum for aspiring professionals in equestrian sports in line with the heritage and culture of Qatar.

Sheikh Thani and Sheikh Al Qa’qa Had honored the winners, awarding them with certificates proving their skills and success.
Mr. Fahad Al Qahtani, President of Community Development (QF), extended his sincere thanks to everyone who made this event such a success and expressed his appreciation to her Excellency Sheikh Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani & Sheikh Thani bin Hamad Al Thani & Sheikh Al Qa’qa bin Hamad Al Thani for their support. He also extended his great thanks to Mr. Alistair Routledge, President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar for supporting Al Shaqab’s Equine Education programs.
