    ABOUT BREEDING

    His Highness The Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani established Al Shaqab in 1992 to enjoy his passion for Arabian horses, to honor the courageous war horses ridden by victorious Qatari knights of the past, and to assure the Arabian horse would continue to play a leading role in the cultural heritage of the Qatari people.

To establish a premier showjumping league that provides a stage for riders of all backgrounds, with an emphasis on promoting opportunities for females and juniors. We aim to prepare them for the highest level of equestrian sport while instilling confidence and sportsmanship in them to allow them to excel as athletes.

Registration for National Classes

  • Entry is open to all Riding Academy members & external riders.
  • Entry fees are 200QAR per national jumping class. Fees are non-refundable.
  • Registration closes 5 days before the start of the event. An extra 100QAR is charged for late entries.
  • Horses can be ridden twice per class by different riders, and a max of 3 times per event.
  • Registration for Al Shaqab Riding Academy Students must be done through their instructors.
  • Upon registration, riders are required to provide their bank details, personal picture (in official jumping attire) and QID copy.
  • External horse owners must register their horses and provide proof of ownership, horse’s passport and vaccination records.

 

Note/ Registration for athletes can be done through a link provided by EED Client Relations.

 

Registration for International Classes

  • Entry is open to all Riding Academy members & external athletes who meets the requirements.
  • Entry fees are 600QAR per event. Fees are non-refundable.
  • Registration closes 5 days before the start of the event. 100QAR is charged everyday that the entry is late.
  • All athletes and horses should have FEI ID valid number.
  • Upon registration, riders are required to provide their bank details, personal picture (in official jumping attire) and QID copy.
