AL SHAQAB Joins Qatar Foundation Festivities For National Sport Day

As a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), Al Shaqab will participate in Qatar’s National Sport Day celebrations due to take place at Education City on 9 February 2016.

Demonstrating how equestrian sport plays a vital role in Qatar’s sporting culture, Al Shaqab will offer pony rides for children aged 5-13 years from 11.30am to 4.00pm in QF’s Oxygen Park.
This opportunity will give visitors a unique insight into horse-related activities, along with the chance to get up close to the fascinating animals.

His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani founded Al Shaqab in 1992 to preserve and further develop the Arabian horse in Qatar. Al Shaqab is led by HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and includes an Endurance Team, a Breeding & Show Division, and a Riding Academy.

In 2004, Al Shaqab proudly became a member of Qatar Foundation. Al Shaqab’s mission is to be a global leader in preserving, improving, and promoting the Arabian horse through setting the highest standard in breeding, show, equestrian arts, and equine welfare, while encouraging community participation.
