    His Highness The Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani established Al Shaqab in 1992 to enjoy his passion for Arabian horses, to honor the courageous war horses ridden by victorious Qatari knights of the past, and to assure the Arabian horse would continue to play a leading role in the cultural heritage of the Qatari people.

An Official Press Conference for the formal announcement of the date and format of CHI AL SHAQAB 2016, 4rd edition in Doha, Qatar will take place today at 11:00 am – 11:30 am.

The competition will take place from 2 – 5 March 2016 at AL SHAQAB – Member of Qatar Foundation.

CHI AL SHAQAB 2016 is one of only four international annual equestrian competitions that showcases three or more equestrian disciplines in one event. By organising events such as CHI AL SHAQAB 2016, Al Shaqab supports the Qatar Foundation Vision 2030 which aims to promote Qatar as a premier international sports destination.
