    His Highness The Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani established Al Shaqab in 1992 to enjoy his passion for Arabian horses, to honor the courageous war horses ridden by victorious Qatari knights of the past, and to assure the Arabian horse would continue to play a leading role in the cultural heritage of the Qatari people.

AL SHAQAB Endurance Team in Europe

The Al Shaqab Endurance team is currently participating in several endurance competitions in Europe in order to prepare and qualify for the FEI World Endurance Championship to be held in Slovakia in September 2016

and the World Endurance Championship for Young Horses (7 years old) to be held in France in September 2016.

Based on the results of their participation in a recent competition, two of Al Shaqab’s Endurance Team riders, Abdulrahman Saad Al Sulaiteen and Saad Mohammed Al Dawsari have both qualified for the World Championship in Slovakia.

Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al Maadhadi, Al Shaqab Endurance Team Manager stated “Our riders have been training hard and I am very happy that their efforts are bearing fruit. Our next goal is to develop a winning team at the Endurance World Championship”.

The team is currently training in the French farm Sarl Les Ecuries du Mas de Belle located in Gaillac, Toulouse from where they will be travelling and participating in different competitions to prepare for the World Championship events.
