The Ambassador of the PR of China visited AL SHAQAB

The Ambassador of the PR of China to the State of Qatar, H E Yue Xiaoyong visited Al Shaqab yesterday where he was introduced to Al Shaqab’s amazing facilities, stables, breeding & show and the indoor and outdoor arenas.

 H E Yue Xiaoyong was amazed by the Arabian horses and its breeds.

He also visited Al Shaqab facilities and was introduced to the modern systems for horse training and praised the sophisticated modern machines, saying: “It’s a world class facility with beautiful horses”.

As he also witnessed a horse while swimming in the pool and walking on the walking machine.

In addition, the Ambassador was very interested to see the exciting details of Al Shaqab, where he raised many questions such as, :“When was the establishment of Al Shaqab? What is the meaning ofAl Shaqab? Who choose the name of Al Shaqab and why? When can a newbornfilly stand? ..”.

The Chinese Ambassador expressed his happiness over this tour,and admiration of the place, facilities and beautiful horses that are owned by Al Shaqab. His Excellency said: “I’ve had a lot of interesting information about horses today “and added:” as horses are part of Qatar’s heritage, this is a beautiful place to keep that heritage alive”

- “Ienjoyed my visit at AL SHAQAB and everything was well organised and we will plan for sending group of visitors from our embassy to Al Shaqab, as it is one of the places that people should visit in Qatar”said the Ambassador of China.

H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, the Father Emir, established AL SHAQAB in 1992 in order to preserve the cultural heritage. He located the Arabian breeding farm at the landmark Al Shaqab battle site, where more than a century ago the Qataris fought this pivotal battle. To achieve this noble goal, Al Shaqab joined Qatar Foundation in 2004.
