Commercial Bank signs on as title sponsor of 7th Edition of CHI AL SHAQAB

Commercial Bank and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, have entered into a three-year partnership that will see the largest private bank in Qatar become the title sponsor of the country’s premier equestrian competition – CHI AL SHAQAB. The partnership starts with the 7th edition of the event this year.

First created in 2013, CHI AL SHAQAB is the signature event of Al Shaqab and has evolved to become one of the highlights on the global equestrian calendar.

Commercial Bank CHI AL SHAQAB Presented by Longines, as the world-class event will now be known, takes place from 27 to 29 February at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab. The three-day event will see top-ranking local and international riders compete in the Olympic disciplines of showjumping, dressage, and para dressage.

CHI (Concours Hippique International – International Equestrian Competition) is the official title awarded by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) to international equestrian competitions with three or more equestrian disciplines.

Commercial Bank CHI AL SHAQAB Presented by Longines is one of only five CHI competitions worldwide and the first and only equestrian event of its kind in the Middle East and Asia region.

At a press conference held to announce the new partnership between Al Shaqab and Commercial Bank, Hussein Ali Al-Abdulla, EGM & Chief Marketing Officer, Commercial Bank, said: “I’m delighted and proud to announce that Commercial Bank will be the title sponsor of Commercial Bank CHI AL SHAQAB Presented by Longines.
