    His Highness The Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani established Al Shaqab in 1992 to enjoy his passion for Arabian horses, to honor the courageous war horses ridden by victorious Qatari knights of the past, and to assure the Arabian horse would continue to play a leading role in the cultural heritage of the Qatari people.

LONGINES GOLBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR (LGCT)

Al-Shaqab, Member of Qatar foundation, is getting ready to host the competitions of the final tour of Longines Global Champions Tour for three days at Al-Shaqab arena in alrayan with the world top riders from 12 to 14 of November 2015.

 This championship is a very important tournament in the world, as the best riders participate in this great tournament. The British Ascot Brush took over lead in LONGINES GOLBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR standings with 297 points for this year, the Portuguese Luciana Diniz followed in second place with 277 points and the Qatari Rider Sheikh Ali bin Khaled Al Thani ranked the 6th place in the overall standing with 195 Points.

The first tour of the championship kicked off on Miami Beach in America and the Qatari Rider achieved the second place in the Grand Prix of this tour in 74.39 seconds riding the horse "Balubit" without fouls and earned a prize of 110,000 Euros.
