Equine Education demonstration showcases young riders
Doha: As part of its commitment to educating the next generation of equestrians, AL SHAQAB hosted the “Equestrian Presentation of Equine Education” today at CHI AL SHAQAB 2017.
The event featured six young riders who are part of the AL SHAQAB’s Equine Education Department, which promotes high-level training in several disciplines of equestrian sports for talented local youth. In today’s demonstration, the riders showed off their skills at AL SHAQAB’s outdoor arena, using a smaller version of the show-jumping course used by the professionals.
After each rider and horse navigated the course, world number one jumper Daniel Deusser and Stephan Ellenbruch, CHI AL SHAQAB ground jury president, offered their advice.
“I think it’s very significant that AL SHAQAB is investing the time and effort to educate future riders,” said Ellenbruch. “This is the next generation of riders, and maybe one of them could be a future world champion..”
Building that bond between human and animal doesn’t happen overnight, and as part of its commitment to Qatar’s equestrian culture, AL SHAQAB is pursuing a holistic approach to equine education.
The school caters for all levels of riders, from absolute beginners to advanced riders of all ages. One of the its key goals is to produce riders with a full understanding and knowledge of the sport and horsemanship.
