Preparing for a World Championship involves lots of effort, months of dedication and a committed support team that included riders, groons, coaches - Sultan Al Shamousi, Abdulrahman Al Sulaiteen, Saad Al Dawsari, Abdulla Al Shammari, veterinarian Silvio Arroyo Filho and Jassim Al Maadhadi, Head of Al Shaqab's Endurance Department.
Just over a year ago, the Al Shaqab Endurance Department was re-organised with a change of management who undertook a review of the training program of horses and riders as well as set a new direction for the department. Experienced riders were engaged as coaches and the department’s manager added his "expertise" as a rider to motivate the team towards greater success in competitions. The outcome of the changes has been positive as exemplified by their successes at the World Championship.
Following the competition, the team returned to Qatar and have commenced training for the 2017/2018 season, focusing their sights on the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games to be held in September 2018 in Tryon, North Carolina.
