Ramadan Program at AL SHAQAB

AL SHAQAB will be conducting its annual Ramadan Program for children from 20 June to 16 July. Interested children may register now for any six-day session during the month.

The relation between horses and mankind has been well-documented throughout history and the Arabian horses are well known for its beauty, speed and agility. The vision of AL SHAQAB is underlined – Build on Qatar’s heritage with the Arabian horse to be a leading global center for equine professionals and provide an engaging experience for the community.

In keeping with this vision, during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, AL SHAQAB will provide an exciting educational and entertaining experience for children who are interested in horses and horseback riding. It is the third consecutive year that AL SHAQAB will conduct the Ramadan Camp at their mammoth facilities located in the historic township of Al Rayyan.

The program aims to provide an opportunity for the young generation of Qatar to get familiar with the equestrian sports in a classical way of learning. It provides the opportunity for youngsters to interact with the horses and to build a strong foundation in techniques of horse riding; to learn how to communicate with horses, develop better balance and right rhythms of ridings, understand the protocols of riding, etc.

Admission is restricted to children aged between 6 and 12 years. The classes will be run by internationally acclaimed professional trainers under the cool ambience of the AL SHAQAB Indoor Arena and with the support of the most modern training techniques and equipment.

The three hour long trainings sessions are arranged in 2 separate timings: afternoon sessions will be between 2 pm and 5 pm and the night sessions will be between 9 pm and 12 am. Fridays will remain a holiday. Learners have the option of choosing any of these sessions but swapping between sessions is not allowed. A fee of QR 600 will the charged for the first week QR 500 for the remaining weeks. Lessons will be offered completely free on the day of Garangao which falls on the 17th of Ramadan.

No equestrian experience is required to join this course. AL SHAQAB welcomes all enthusiastic boys and girls to the AL SHAQAB Arenas, the largest site ever built for the equestrian sports, to register their names at the earliest as the admissions limited and will be first come first served.
