TOURNMENT IN AL SHAQAB EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS ON THE EQUINE EDUCATIONAL

AL SHAQAB hosted last Saturday the 2nd Al Shaqab Equine Education Invitational Competition. With a tournament that occurred throughout the day, the success spirit of competition is still hovering AL SHAQAB.

Counting around hundred participants, from Equine Education Membership at AL SHAQAB and Qatar Equestrian Federation, the event confirmed the expected success and community prestige in Doha.

The competition included six different classes, between Style Class, Caprilli Tests, Gymkhana Games, Foundation Skills; Horsemanship Club Challenge and Open Ridden Class.

The first three classes - The Gymkhana, the Horsemanship Challenge and the Open Ridden classes provided the riders with the opportunity to showcase their riding abilities, horsemanship, good position, balance and team work. The caprilli classes tested the abilities of the participants as regards their skills to maintain the pace rhythm and tempo of the horse over poles and demonstrate a correct jumping position while maintaining a correct rhythm and tempo of the horse between fences.

AL SHAQAB, a member of Qatar Foundation, crowned the winners with certificates of participation, rosettes, trophies and flower bouquets were awarded to the best of the bests in an awarding ceremony after each class. Mohammed Mubarak Al Dosari won in the Style Class and Sheikha Moza Faisal Jassim Al Thani was crowned champion in the Caprilli 1A Class category.

For the assistant manager of Equine Educational at AL SHAQAB, Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the event was a tremendous success and his vision for organizing the event achieved “For everyone involved the event reached a positive challenges, resulting in an amazing experience for everyone. For the participants it was a unique experience, improving and encouraging the young generation of horsemen/ horsewomen to accept challenges, exchange experiences, and certainly adding value to the equestrian sports”.
