Endurance

Saad started riding at the age of 11, as a showjumper at the Qatar Equestrian Federation. He began competing in endurance races in 2008. He has achieved excellent results and won events both as an endurance rider and as a showjumper. He is presently working as a trainer with the Al Shaqab Endurance Team, and also competes in races around the world. He  represented the endurance team in major competitions such as the World Equestrian Games in 2018, and the World Endurance Championship in 2012. In 2012, he won the East European Endurance Ride, which took place over three days, riding through Austria, Hungary and Slovakia.

Mohammed, the brother of fellow Al Shaqab team member Hassan, began endurance riding in 2001. After five months of training, in 2002, he competed in his first race, and finished fourth. Following that success, Mohammed decided to concentrate fully on endurance riding as an equestrian discipline. Mohammed, one of the most successful trainers in Qatar, handled the horses that won the Emir Sword in 2018. He represented the Qatar National team in the World Endurance Championship in 2012 and 2016, World Equestrian Games in 2014, and the World Championship for Junior Riders in 2009.

Abdulrahman began riding as an eight-year-old and has competed in endurance events since 2003. Two years after his first endurance race, he won his first event - the Al Malik Cup in Bahrain. He is one of the most successful riders in the Al Shaqab Endurance Team. In 2014, he won the bronze medal for Qatar in the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France. This represented the best result for Al Shaqab/Qatar at an international level. In 2019, he won the Emir Sword which represents his finest result on Qatari soil. His list of major competitions includes the World Equestrian Games in 2010, 2014, and 2018, and the 2016 World Endurance Championshi

As with most of the Al Shaqab riders, the spirit for riding began at an early age for Jassim. He began riding horses at the age of seven, developing his skills with horses at his family's farm. Jassim took up endurance riding as a sport in 2002 as a 22 year old – a bit older than his teammates - and has been competing regularly since then.

He has represented Al Shaqab in World Championships in 2009, 2010, and 2011. He took a break from endurance riding in 2012 to pursue higher studies. After completing his studies, he returned to the sport and has been managing the Al Shaqab Endurance Team since 2016.

Under his leadership, the team achieved excellent results. He led them to major championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Jassim is devoted to developing new generations of equestrian enthusiasts and continuing the tradition of excellence in horsemanship that is integral to the heritage of Qatar

Sultan started riding in 2008. Prior to joining Al Shaqab, he was a rider at the Qatar Emiri Guard. He has been part of the Al Shaqab Endurance Team since 2012, and has been part of their World Endurance Championship campaigns in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018.

Khalid began competitive horse riding in August 2000. Five months later, he achieved a tremendous honor by winning his first junior championship. Following this, he decided to dedicate himself to become a professional rider. In 2005, he won a 120km race against the most experienced riders in Qatar. After that, he started to compete in senior level competitions. He represented Al Shaqab and Qatar in the 2008 World Endurance Championship, the 2014 World Equestrian Games, and the 2016 World Endurance Championship. Some of his biggest personal achievements are second place in the 2018 World Cup for 7-year-old Horses, and third place in the 2017 and 2018 Emir Sword Race.

Khalid also participates in showjumping events, is an established horse trainer, and owns his own private horse farm in Qatar.

As a 10 year old, Faleh was encouraged to take up riding by his father, who served as a pilot in the Qatar Air Force. An accomplished competitor in both showjumping and endurance, Faleh has been competing in endurance events since 2004 and was ranked World Number 1 in the 2011 and 2014 FEI international rankings for endurance riders. He has achieved numerous honors for the Al Shaqab/Qatar Endurance Team. Since 2016, he has been competing for the Al Shaqab Racing Team in flat races all around the world. He has represented the endurance team in the 2008 and 2012 World Endurance Championships, the 2010 and 2014 World Equestrian Games, and the 2009 World Championship for Junior Riders.

Hassan and his brother, Mohammed Tahous Al Naimi, are both endurance trainers at Al Shaqab. As an 11-year-old, Hassan followed his brother into the sport and began riding. He has been competing in international competitions for Al Shaqab and Qatar since 2008. His list of major competitions includes the World Equestrian Games 2014, and the World Endurance Championships in 2012 and 2016. He won the Emir Sword Cup in 2018 with a speed of 25km/h, which is a record in Qatar.

As the oldest member of the Al Shaqab team, Atta provides a wealth of riding experience. His appearance in the 2018 World Equestrian Games marked the ninth time he has competed in a World Championship representing the Qatar National Team. His first was in 1998. In 2018, Atta finished third in the World Championship for 7-year-old-Horses to register his best performance in a World Championship event.
